Why Should We Share The Good News

We became Christians because we believed and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. But before we surrendered our life to Jesus Christ, how did we live? What was our priority? And how did we deal with other people?

When we start living in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we become new beings. Our old ways are gone and we become new. We slowly realize that we are changed: our priorities, disposition and way of thinking. We have this glow in us like we are in love for the very first time. True Christianity changes you in ways you cannot even imagine.

So, why should we share the good news? It is because we have come to know the truth and we want others to know it as well. We want others to be blessed as we are and experience the kind of love that only God can give. It is because we want them to understand and encounter how God can fill their lives in a way no one and nothing can fill. We want others to know of God’s mercy, grace and faithfulness. Above all, we want others to have the eternal life that only God can give.

Why should we share the good news? It is because our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to spread His word, the good news, to everyone – even to the ends of the Earth. He also said in His word to love your neighbors as yourself. Part of loving our neighbors is sharing with them the love of God in word and in deed. Some would argue that they don’t have the gift of speaking with other people or that they are just too shy. It is okay because sharing the good news can also be done through our actions. If we live the way God wants us to live then people will eventually see it. And when they ask you about your newfound joy you can ask God to empower you to share with them the good news. You don’t need a degree in Bible school to do that. You just have to share with them your experiences and encounters with God and how He changed you.

God doesn’t look at how eloquently we speak or the words that we use when we share the good news. He looks at our hearts and our willingness to let other people know of His love and goodness. We share the good news because it is the right thing to do; after all, we have been saved because someone shared with us the love of God, too.
